Sarah Thomas is part of the Board of Directors and the Americas & Education Chair. She is the ultimate teacher. She works in International Education and looks forward to our future work with teachers to bring fun new ideas into the classroom. It isn't the surprising to know that Sarah loves to learn -- and she loves to dive into the fun detail of the science experiments. Her work with g4g in the US here!

I am sophomore double majoring in earth science and secondary education with a minor in biology. I hope to receive my Master's degree in education at the graduate school here at BSU and then pursue my dream of becoming a high school science teacher, and might explore the administration field. It's my first year working for g4g and I learned about this wonderful program from Dr. Sarah Thomas in hopes to inspire young women to explore the STEM field. At Bridgewater, I am a community member as I have many roles here on campus such as being a member of the BSU Swim & Dive team, a Student Security Officer, an Orientation Leader, and even a mascot for the school. This past swim season I was one of the BSU Swim & Dive team's peer mentors, where I oversaw the freshmen's/new members' grades and aided them in adjusting with the load of their academics and the demand of the sport. I hope through being an active member in the BSU community while pursuing my passion as an educator will inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and dream big.

2018

On April 7, 2018 we went to Bridgewater State University to welcome 130 girls aged 11 to 15 from local communities for our 3rd annual g4g Day @BSU in partnership with BSU's Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (CASE). After meeting with Dr. Diana Fox, Professor of Anthropology and Department Chair at BSU, our guest speaker for the event, the girls got to spend their morning engaged in hands-on workshops showing the link between STEM and their everyday life. One of our favorite moments? When one of the girls made her own model of the lungs in a bottle and shouted “Everything is Science!”!! A huge thanks to all the 40 volunteers who dedicated their time, our friends at BSU and Sarah and Thila who joined us for this fun day!
