2018

On May 15, 2018, most of the HQ team traveled to Dublin to live a brilliant second #g4gDayDublin event in partnership with our global partner AIG. We were so happy to meet those 85 fun and vibrant girls! During the event we were lucky to be accompanied with Martha Gallo Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at AIG and the wonderful team members and coaches from the Dublin GAA! All the girls experienced 4 workshops, from robotics to polymer worms, from DNA extraction to coding and of course... a workshop dedicated to the science behind sports! We’re so grateful to the time, dedication, and passion shown by all those who took part to this event behind the scenes!

2017

In 2017, g4g was part of a successful and inspiring g4g@work launch in #Dublin, Ireland with our incredible global partner, AIG, and with support from Global Women in Technology. On May 23rd, the North Wall Quay office opened its doors to 80 enthusiastic girls aged 11-15 from across 25 Dublin GAA clubs as they geared up for a full day of #STEM workshops! Girls explored physics and electromagnetic waves with plasma balls, calculated the speed of light with chocolate, "charged" up their very own fruit battery, tasted the sweet sides of statistics with M&Ms, and so much more! A favourite moment was when the girls got to personally meet and work with Dublin Ladies footballers – Noelle and Dee – Dublin Camogie players – Aisling, Grainne, and Laura – and Coach Ken Robinson from Dublin City University, to explore the science behind sports! The day was beautifully summarised by Faye Sahai, AIG’s Head of Technology Innovation, when she expressed how the event “reinforce[d] the magic of science and technology and discovery” – and we feel the same way!
