We were excited to launch our g4g@work event for the first time in Frankfurt, Germany with our global partner AIG, a leading global insurance company!
Welcoming 50 girls aged 11-15 from the local community, girls will spend the day engaged in hands-on workshops from calculating probability with chocolate to coding and artificial intelligence. They had the opportunity to learn from amazing STEM role-models & see what the everyday life of risk engineers and technicians at AIG looks like!

What? We welcome 50 girls aged 11-15 to a g4g@work day event of interactive, hands-on, unbelievable fun in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics!
How? We invite role model professionals to lead 1 hour workshops that show the link to STEM, with 10 - 12 girls in one workshop. Girls will have a chance to experience 4 workshops throughout the day.

2018
On June 6th, g4g and AIG hosted 50 girls aged 11 – 15 at the AIG office in Frankfurt, Germany. The girls, guided by the amazing 20 volunteers who joined us that day, had a chance to discover all sorts of STEM-related workshops, including VR, robots, cybersecurity and statistics… with a little help from M&M’s! They also got the opportunity to meet amazing role-models and to discover the AIG offices and what a regular day at the company means. How did we get here?

The sessions included learning and experiencing cutting-edge technology behind the HAKA 360 Virtual Reality (including an intro from star All Blacks Rugby player Aaron Cruden), A Prize for Safety where the girls try on safety equipment and learn about the importance of a warm-up, guessing what's inside your 'excercise smoothie' during the nutrition break - Power from what you Eat, interactively learning - Can Physics Help your Game? led by the g4g team, and much more!

Déborah is a Master student in Communications at the VUB. She loves to travel and explore new cultures. She’s passionate about music, especially singing. There are so many things she still wants to learn in her life, from learning a few more languages, to learning to play a few more instruments, to learning to code. Luckily at G4g, she is learning lots of new things.

Having grown up wanting to be Indiana Jones, Alexaundra loves to find new ways to combine her passions for science, history, languages and world travel. She has a Master's degree in European Studies, co-taught an after school science program at ISB, and currently loves being a member of the g4g headquarter team!
