We were thrilled to launch our first event in São Paulo, Brazil with our global partner & leader in polymer solutions, Covestro, hosted at the Catavento museum!

Together with Covestro, we are working to help inspire young women in STEM subjects. Bringing together 80 girls aged 11-15 from various communities and backgrounds, our goal was to demonstrate the link between STEM and everything around us and to inspire the future generation of female STEM leaders.

Our past events…

2018

We had so much fun at our first g4g Day @Sao Paulo, on May 3! Along with Covestro and thanks to the amazing Museu Catavento in São Paulo, we hosted 80 girls aged 11 – 15 for a fun day in science. Thanks to the tremendous help from the 20 volunteers who joined us this day, girls took part in interactive and fun workshops (like our traditional DNA extractions) but they also discovered all the mystery behind astrophysics and used their engineering skills to build spaghetti towers! Take a look at all the exciting smiles we got that day here !

Loredana is our Venezuelan numbers geek who is able to learn first someone’s phone number or date of birth than the actual name. She is also an avid traveller who loves to meet people from all around the globe because of her interest on how people could do simple daily life so different from one place to another…specially eating given her Italian family background! She was living in Brussels when g4g was getting started and always stayed around the organization to help in any possible way ( even just to cheer-up for the great success stories it has had). Even though her personal /career path did not guided her straight into Engineering or science studies as she would loved to, she has followed numbers and STEM path through Finance and Project Management within several multinationals in the Technology, Telecom and Engineering industries. Being a witness during her work life of the need for diversity initiatives including more girls into STEM subjects, and now mother of a little girl, she is currently supporting g4g her knowledge and passion for global projects and exposure to amazing people/girls from around the world.

Covestro is among the leading suppliers of premium polymers. Our materials and application solutions are found in nearly every area of modern life. Innovation and sustainability are the driving forces behind the continuous development of our products, processes and facilities.

Catavento is a cultural and educational space that presents the science and social issues to the mainly young public in an attractive and interactive way. The facilities are divided in four big sections in a chain: Universe – from outer space to the Earth, Life – from the first living being to the human being, Ingenuity – man’s creations, and Society – controversial issues of human society. The exhibitions have been performed by renowned specialists, scenographers and educational institutions. They present, in a simple and interesting way, a gamut of themes from these four knowledge areas.
