g4g Announces the Launch of Covestro Circular World

Introducing a new educational tool with Covestro to bring circular economy & sustainability hands-on learning to 50 Schools across 3 continents

Brussels, Belgium, 30 November 2021 — International non-profit greenlight for girls (g4g) has joined forces with its partner company, Covestro, to launch the vibrant, hands-on and interactive Covestro Circular World, strengthening its commitment to STEM education globally. This is the first partner world launched within the new g4g Lab - a free, online educational tool designed to invite young science explorers from around the world to experiment with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The Covestro Circular World is a virtual and hands-on learning platform, which opens up a wide and colorful array of discovery and exploration, that makes STEM learning accessible and fun. The easy-to-grasp modules and DIY experiments are designed specifically to engage young STEM adventurers on topics in everyday life - circular economy, sustainability and smarter living.  In the Covestro Circular World, adventurers are encouraged to explore the world around them and gain inspiration for their future studies and career paths by interacting with the stories & journeys of Covestro scientists, amazing inventors, innovators, role-models and STEM leaders.

Our sustainable future relies on bright young minds with innovative ideas. But children’s perception of science learning is not just confined to the classroom. That’s why we’ve teamed up with greenlight for girls to create the Covestro Circular World, an online platform to explore the different areas of sustainable development.
— Lynette Chung, Chief Sustainability Officer at Covestro

The design of the Covestro Circular World enables teachers, parents and the adventurers themselves to conduct the experiments in their homes, schools and communities, bringing back the results and their insights into the virtual lab. This helps engage students anywhere in the world who may not have individual digital access, depending on their locations and personal situations, yet, they are able to follow and participate in the learning.

Covestro Circular World is re-imagining how students learn and discover in innovative ways. The dream objective for the g4g Lab and Covestro Circular World came from looking at how young STEM adventurers could learn, engage and interact, regardless of their academic performance, field of study, experience, geography or backgrounds. How can learning be different? How can we introduce topics that surround them so they can begin to see how they can make a sustainable difference to the communities in which they live? We are proud to partner with Covestro to create this potentially transformative learning experience that will now grow in its intent and reach.
— Melissa Rancourt, Founder and Board President of greenlight for girls
